Abstract |
A sensitive and selective method for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and acetaminophen (AP) was investigated using benzoic acid functionalized terthiophene-based conducting polymer (TBA) and porous carbon (PC) composite layer. The conducting polymer composite was electrochemically formed at screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE). In square wave voltammetry (SWV) technique, both DA and AP gave well-defined oxidation peaks at -80 mV and 120 mV, respectively. Under the optimized experimental conditions (such as pH, TBA concentration, and amount of PC), both DA and AP showed a linear response over the range of 1 to 500 μM with the detection limits were found to be 0.6 μM for DA and 0.7 μM for AP. The ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA), did not interfere due to the surface charge of the modified electrode, which gave a selective determination of DA and AP. |
