| Abstract |
The metal-free organic D-π-A dyes based on the diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) spacer (CSD-08 and CSD-09) were synthesized and used as photosensitizers in the conventional DSSCs. CSD-08 and CSD-09 dyes emitted each different blue colors and their photophysical and electrochemical roperties are compared with theoretical calculations. CSD-09 containing bis-butoxyphenyl donor moiety with co-adsorbate chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) gave a higher power conversion efficiency (η = 3.62 versus 3.43%) than CSD-08 containing dimethyl donor moiety, presumably due to the donor of CSD-09 decreases dye aggregation which promotes more effective intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) characteristics. |
