Abstract Amine compounds are of enormous importance in industrial, environmental pollution, toxicological and medicinal fields. We developed a highly accurate, highly selective, and low-cost sensor array based on an optical paper-based device for the detection of various amine compounds in gaseous media. The changes of dyes’ colors on the sensing areas based on the individual amine compounds were analyzed using red, green, and blue (RGB) values. Principal Component Analysis (PCA), hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) methods were applied as a chemometric tool for classifying amine gases. In the future, these portable sensor arrays are expected to be able to provide an early warning of natural gas pollution or an early indicator of specific diseases. Keywords: amine, paper-based device, chemometric, colorimetric
