Abstract |
In this study, we have designed and synthesized two bipolar host materials namely,4-(2-(4,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-9H-carbazol-9-yl)-N,N diphenylaniline (TRZ 1) and 4-(2-(4,6-diphenylpyrimidin-2-yl)-9H-carbazol-9-yl)-N,N-diphenylaniline (PYR 1) for green phosphorescence OLEDs. The triplet energies of PYR 1 and TRZ 1 were 2.63 and 2.44 eV, respectively. Which facilitated proper energy transfer from host to dopant to enhance the efficiencies. The PYR 1 was green OLED device showed maximum current efficiency of 48.7 cd/A with an outstanding brightness of 95,870 cd/m2. The brightness value was three times higher than that of CBP based reference green OLED. The external quantum efficiency of PYR 1 based device was 16.4% while TRZ 1 showed 15.4 %. Overall performance of pyrimidine based PYR 1 was found as better when compare to CBP and TRZ 1.
