| Abstract |
3-Arylmethyleneisoindolin-1-ones are known to exhibit various biological activities and have been utilized for the synthesis of numerous natural products and pharmacologically important compounds. Recently, we developed a Pd-catalyzed one-pot synthetic method of (E)-3-arylmethyleneisoindolin-1-ones from N-Ts-benzamides and styrenes with high regio- and stereoselectivities. In addition, this method could be used as a key step in the total syntheses of aristolactam BII and FI, which are the shortest ones to date. |
