Abstract |
Self-assembly of ZnI2 with di(isoquinolin-5-yl)isophthalate (L) as a new bidentate N-donor gives rise to a discrete crown-shaped M2L2 architecture, [Zn2I4L2]⋅4CH3CN⋅THF. These cyclodimers constitute, a characteristically eclipsed molecular array, resulting in the formation of channels. The metallocyclodimer effectively stabilizes/recognizes a combination aggregate of unstable CH2I2 and benzene molecules. UV-irradiation 254 nm on [Zn2I4L2]⋅4CH3CN⋅THF crystal has been attempted. Their photoreactivity will be presented.
