Abstract |
In this works, carbon aerogels (CAs) were prepared as physisorbents and electrode materials for hydrogen storage and supercapacitor. Synthesized aerogels were carbonized and then activated using carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. The specific surface area and micropore size distribution were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation and non-linear density functional theory method. The structural and morphological properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), respectively. The hydrogen uptakes were analyzed at 77 K and 1 bar. Electrochemical behaviors were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in a three-electrode system. From the results, it was found that surface characteristics and porosities played an important role in the capacitance of electrode and hydrogen uptakes. |
