Abstract |
We have synthesized new series of cobalt(II), copper(II) and cadmium(II) complexes, namely [LnCoCl2], [LnCuCl2] and [LnCdBr2] supported by ligands [Ln] (Ln = LA and LB), in which LA = (E)-N1,N1-dimethyl-N3-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)propane-1,3-diamine and LB = (E)-3-methoxy-N-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)propan-1-amine, respectively. All complexes were characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR, elemental analyzer and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Molecular structures of [LACoCl2], [LACdBr2] and [LACuCl2] were distorted square pyramidal geometry around the metal center. The catalytic activity of the Co(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II) complexes for the methyl methacrylate (MMA) polymerization in the presence of modified methylaluminoxane (MMAO) were investigated. |
