Abstract |
Thiamine pyrophosphate (ThPP) is a key coenzyme of pyruvate dehydrogenase, which transforms pyruvate into acetyl CoA to perform the Krebs cycle. Inspired by the ThPP, thiazolium and DMAP were utilized for carbon dioxide capture using epoxide and atmospheric CO2 at mild temperature in 96% yield. The epoxide-to-cyclocarbonate transformation reaction was successfully even in the presence of a significant amount of moisture (100 mol% water). |
