Abstract |
In this work, activated carbons (ACs) were synthesized using chemical activation with various weight ratios of potassium hydroxide (KOH). The structural properties and the morphologies of ACs were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The specific surface area and pore size distribution were calculated by N2/77K adsorption isotherms using the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation and non-local density functional theory (NLDFT). Hydrogen uptakes were measured by high pressure adsorption instrument at 298 K and 70 bar. The results explain that the weight ratios of carbons to KOH have an influence on the changes in pore sizes and hydrogen storage capacity. |
