Abstract |
IrOx and RuOx have proven to be the most active electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). However, the IrOx and RuOx based nanoparticles agglomerate with higher ohmic resistance to hinder the electronic paths and lower their stability. We posited that the design of Pt/IrO2 catalysts might be beneficial because the Pt phase can increase the electronic conductivity. Herein, we report the synthesis of heterophase IrNi/PtNi nanoframe by controlling the differences in decomposition kinetics of each metal precursor and gas type between argon and carbon monoxide. The Ir oxide phase, obtained from electrochemical oxidation, on the metallic PtNi phase efficiently catalyzed the OER in acidic media |
