Heterocyclic compounds, particulary indoles, are of interest because they widely occur in nature as partial structures of alkaloids and having unique biological activities. Recently, we observed a highly unique behavior involving 1,3-alkenyl shift to silver-carbenes in silver-catalyzed-cyclization of ethyl N-(2-alkynyl)phenylformimidates (1) with malonates. In this presentation, we report more efficient three-component version concerning 1,3-alkenyl shift leading to 2,3-substituted indoles (2) with some catalysts screening.
