Conducting polymers are consisted of long chains, repeating themselves with free electrons. They usually formed electromagnetic shielding of electronic circuit, so they can be used as antistatic coating materials. These days, their important application field is expanding into electroluminescent displays, for example, OLED as a hole injecting electrode owing to the conductivity affected by the presence of doping materials. Therefore, the doped metals and materials for practical usage became more complicated and important because they determine physical and electrical properties of the conducting polymer. Unfortunately, those complicated component made the analytical process difficult. In this work, we developed analytical procedure for conducting polymer containing ZnO and silica. First, FT-IR, EDX and XRF were used for component analysis, determining base material and additives, and a pre-treatment process based on microwave digestion and ashing followed by acid digestion. For the ashing, samples in a quartz crucible were heated up to 800 ℃ and then dissolved by concentrated HF and HNO3 solutions for ICP-MS measurement. The determined concentration of Zn was near 0.5%, obtained by standard calibration with In as an internal standard.
