In this study, silver nanocrystal embedded needle-like particles are synthesized by introducing organic molecules such as melamine and isocyanuric acid into polyol process. Organic molecules and silver nitrate can be made linear chain with forming 1:1 complex, and this phenomenon might be the reason for being generated linear particles. This study shows that the shape of synthesized particles can be affected by the structure of organo-metal complex. By IR spectrum and element analysis, it was found that the needle-like particles are formed as silver-organic frame work (MOF). Surprisingly, the organic molecules play curial role to form nano-needle in early reaction stage but the organic frame disappeared in final reaction stage leaving only silver nanoparticles. This simple synthetic route will be one protocol to make one dimensional metal-organic composite nanoparticles.
