A number of metalloproteinase have a multi-nuclear copper center as the active site, including nitrite reductase, haemocyanins, oxygenases, and etc. Specifically, in ascorbate oxidase, ceruloplasmin and laccase, the trinuclear copper site has been found in the active site. To understand the mechanism and mimic the enzyme’s functions, lots of researchers are interested on. Only (μ3-O) and (μ3-OH) bridged copper complexes are reported so far, still the methoxo bridged trinuclear copper complex was not reported.
Here in, we report the synthesis and the characterization of [Cu3(μ3-OMe)(μ-OMe)(μ-O2CAr4-FPh)2(O2CAr4-FPh)2(MeOH)3] with ter-phenyl bulky ligand using IR-spectroscopy, UV-Visible, X-ray single crystallography, EPR and Magnetism.
