We develop a system for profiling chemicals in plants, which we named 'Flora Genesis System' (FG system). There are two major parts: one for experimental data analysis, and the other for computational counterpart. Experimentally obtained data from MS, NMR, LC and GC are forwarded to computational analysis, which consists of Molecular Formula Generation, Theoretical Peak Generation, Searching Database, Comparing Profiles and Prediction System (Activity, Toxicity, ...). This poster shows how to compare profiles of fresh ginseng, red ginseng and camphor ginseng, using 15T FT-ICR MS with the globally highest level of resolution and accuracy. Thanks to its high performance, a lot of chemicals from plant sample can be analyzed simultaneously. Our system can quickly analyze the results from the 15T FT-ICR MS. The highly efficient mass spectrometer enables a rapid-concurrent analysis of multi-chemicals nowadays. Flora Genesis has improved the speed of analysis providing the possibilities to excavate the diversity of highly valuable chemicals, such as extracts containing chemicals with pharmacologic activity, cover ingredients of origin, and main components of different efficacies, etc and to quickly explore candidates of New Chemical Entity. Using this advanced analysis system, we can anticipate an academic ripple effect on developing the new frontier about state-of-the-art field of mixture analysis and a financial ripple on commercializing the excavated high value chemicals in various fields, such as food, beverage, cosmetics, medicinal herbs and metabolome, etc.
