The application of nanotechnology to drug delivery is widely expected to change the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. In this study, a facile method for the formation of polymer nanoparticles through the self-assembly of preformed polymers in aqueous solution under ambient conditions was employed. Thus, the size of poly(ethylene glycol) nanoparticles was investigated and could be controlled by varying reaction parameters such as time and concentration. The particle size analysis has been carried out by DLS and the visual evidence of the polymer nanoparticles was obtained by TEM. Their size was in the range of 10-60 nm. Then, the nanoparticles were applied as polymer-drug nanoparticle systems for tumor-targeted drug delivery. Their physico?chemical characterization included UV-Vis spectroscopy, DLS, FT-IR, SPFS, and zeta potential measurements.
