This study introduces multi-package white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) combined with an InGaN blue LED and green/red or green/amber/red full down-converted, phosphor-converted LEDs (pc-LEDs). We have studied full down-converted pc-LEDs using an InGaN blue LED and a long-wave pass filter (LWPF) to overcome low color purity and low efficiency for emission in the deep green to amber region of spectrum between 510 -610nm of III-V-based monochromatic semiconductor LEDs. Green, amber and red full down-converted pc-LEDs were fabricated by simply capping a LWPF on top of pc-LEDs. (Sr,Ba)2SiO4:Eu , (Sr,Ca)AlSiN3:Eu, and (Sr,Ba,Ca)3SiO5:Eu phosphors were used as the green, amber, and red pc-LEDs in this experiment, respectively. Multi-package white LEDs combined with an InGaN blue LED and green/red or green/amber/red full down-converted pc-LEDs were put into a triangle or square lattice fixture for three- or four-package white LEDs under direct current (DC) operation and measured in an integrated sphere using a spectrophotometer. The efficacies, CRIs and the relative luminous fluxes of multi-package white LEDs were measured at eight correlated color temperatures (CCTs) which were specified by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard (C78.377-2008).
