The goal of systems biology is to understand physiology and disease from the level of molecular pathway, regulatory networks, cells, tissues and organs. The systems biology was currenly employed many different approaches and models for probing and understanding biological complexcity. Omics approaches to systems biology focus on the building blocks of complex systems (genes, proteins and metabolite). These approaches have been adopted by the drug discovery to target identification and validation. The NF-κB system of transcription factors plays a crucial role in inflammatory diseases, making it an important drug target. We combined quantitative structure activity relationships for predicting the activity of new compounds and quantitative dynamic models for the NF-κB network with intracellular concentration models. The our goal of modeling in systems biology is to provide a prediction based on in silico simulation of human disease. More detailed understanding of the systems behavior of intracellular signaling pathways can also help predict drug target effects.
