Many researchers studied colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals for understanding their unique properties about the electronic and optical properties and for applying them at the various field such as biomedical imaging, materials for LEDs and photovoltaic devices, and so on. Ⅱ-Ⅵ semiconducting nanocrystals such as CdSe and CdTe quantum dots have a good quantum yield especially when passivated by inorganic large band gap materials. However, they have a severe fault due to the composition of heavy metals which have very toxicity. Ⅲ-Ⅴ compounds are generally referred to as greener nanocrystals due to more enviromental friendly composition than Ⅱ-Ⅵ componants. Nevertheless, study and application of them are scarcer than Ⅱ-Ⅵ nanocrystals because of very difficulty of their synthesis and weak optical properties due to nonradiative surface recombination site and high activation barriers for carrier detrapping. In this study, we make a InP multi-shell structures to overcome demerits. InP/ZnSe/ZnS multi-shell structure was synthesized in one pot by using the Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method. InP/ZnSe/ZnS multi-shell has an improved optical properties compared with InP/ZnS core-shell structure.
