To enhance the efficiency of water oxidation of BiVO4 photoanode, BiVO4 is modified with Cobalt Phosphate Catalyst(CoPi) by using electrodeposition. Amounts of CoPi that deposited on the surface of electrode will be increased by following electrodeposition method of CoPi on substrate for a long time, green-lish CoPi will be adsorbed thickly. If the photo response experiments are proceeded with this sample, CoPi will block the light that should have to reach to the BiVO4 so the photo activity will be limited. According to this reason, experiments were followed by backside illumination. Photoelectrochemical activity of BiVO4/CoPi was different with different deposition time. BiVO4/CoPi 30 min sample has the highest photocurrent, 0.77mA/cm2, more than twice compared to bare BiVO4, 0.33mA/cm2. Oxygen also occurred 10 times more in CoPi deposited BiVO4. To understand more information about BiVO4/CoPi electrode, surface analysis such as SEM, XPS etc was performed.
