Now, science which is the greatest human activity has positioned to be culture in human society. Hence, science for science, science for society and science in society are basic philosophy in academic societies. Chemistry can make great contributions to the society through science and technology. Chemistry provides very unique fundamentals to other fields and very wide range of knowledge, methods, products, etc. to other fields and disciplines. The topics of my talk will cover representative aspects of recent progress and development in chemistry of Asian countries. The number of Nobel prize laureates in Chemistry in 2000-2010 from Asia (Japan) is six chemists, which share is top-level in the world. The Shipment of chemical products in Asia/Oceania region accounts for about 40% of the world and increases rapidly. Share of scientific papers in Asian/Oceania countries (region) is increasing rapidly. Share of Top 10 scientific papers in Asian/Oceania countries (region) is also increasing rapidly. The number of doctoral degrees in natural science and engineering in Asian countries is also increasing rapidly. The major of international students in US is the ones from Asian countries. The percent of Asian countries for Gold medalists in International Chemistry of Olympiad is around 60%. These facts indicate that Chemistry of Asia has big influence on many issues of the world. The Chemical Societies in Asian countries are expected to play an important role in solving the problems of education, health, environment, energy, disaster, etc. in cooperation with each other for advance of sustainable human life and society.
