New oxynitride perovskites compounds of Ca0.7Li0.3Ta0.7O2N , Sr0.7Li0.3Ta0.7O2N and La0.7Li0.3Ta0.7ON2 have been synthesis and compared qualitatively, quantitatively. Amonolytic heating of the layered perovskies Ca2Ta2O7, Sr2Ta2O7 and LaTaO4 with Li2CO3 produced defect perovskites oxynitrides containing lithium on the octahedral site. resulted in the perovskites with substantial amounts of vacancy defects both on the cation and anion sites. Above process can be induces cooperative Li+ insertion into the precursor and the charge-balancing O2-/N3- exchange. The crystal structures of these compounds have been determined by Rietveld analysis through X-Ray powder diffraction patterns and combustion analysis.
