Among the cathode materials of lithium-ion batteries, borate-based materials have been studied a lot so far due to their high theoretical capacity (220 mAh g-1). One of these borate-based materials, LiFeBO3 has good stability, low open-circuit voltage (OCV), and good reversible capacity. In a previous study, we have shown that the discharge capacity of LiFeBO2.7F0.6 has been improved by doping fluorine into LiFeBO3. However, structural instability has been observed. Therefore, in this study, manganese is added to the metal site of LiFeBO2.7F0.6 to acquire its structural stability. LiFe1-xMnxBO2.7F0.6 (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1.0) have been synthesized by solid-state method and characterized their structure by 7Li MAS NMR and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The stability of the structure has also been verified by measuring the electrochemical performances with the Galvano static charge-discharge test.
