The buildup of intentionally ordered protein systems within supramolecular aggregates can play major roles in biological systems by inducing for example time-delayed specific responses at the cellular level. Fibronectin (FN) is a major component of the extracellular matrix (ECM) of all connective tissues that form a class of immunologically and structurally related high molecular weight and highly flexible glycoproteins composed of two nearly identical subunits linked covalently near their C-termini by disulfide bonds. Formation of fibrillar FN networks is a major process during embryogenesis and tissue formation. Although the cause of fibrillogenesis of FN have been studied extensively, only one study has been done on the early intermediate stages of fibrillogenesis of FN, but the mechanism of fibrillogenesis of FN is still under investigation. In this work, we have studied the process of fibrillogenesis of FN onto different charged surfaces by ellipsometry and AFM measurements. The adsorption kinetics has been measured by elipsometry technique.
