Name International Symposium on Catalysis and Fine Chemicals 2013 (C&FC2013)

Period December 1-5, 2013

Place Renmin University of China (Beijing, China)

Organized by Renmin University of China, The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)

Co-organized by Catalysis Society of Japan, Catalysis and Fine Chemicals Division The Chemical Society of Japan, Chinese Chemical Society, Chemical Society of Thailand, Singapore Catalysis Society, The Japan Petroleum Institute etc.

Chairperson Zhiping Li (Renmin University of China, China)

Topics (Tentative):
  • Selective catalytic reaction for synthesis of fine chemicals
  • New synthetic strategy, chemical process
  • Green & sustainable catalytic process, reaction media
  • Enhanced atom utilization

The first C&FC symposium was held in 2001 (Waseda University, Tokyo) organized by
Catalysis Society of Japan (Catalysis and Fine Chemicals Division). The purpose on
this symposium is to meet research scientists from both industry and academia especially
in Asian region, and to exchange the most up-to-date method and process for the efficient
and selective synthesis of fine chemicals through catalysis. The projected fields to be
covered are homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, organic, organometallic,
inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry. The symposium was then held in Hong Kong
(2004), Singapore (2007), Seoul (2009), and in Nara (2011). This will be the 6th C&FC
symposium that will be held in Renmin University of China (Beijing, China). The last
symposium in Nara was organized by the Catalysis Society of Japan, Catalysis and Fine
Chemicals Division and co-organized by The Korean Chemical Society, The Chemical
Society Located in Taipei, The Chemical Society of Japan, The Chinese Chemical
Society, The Singapore Catalysis Society, The Japan Petroleum Institute, The Society of
Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan, and The Kinki Chemical Society, Japan etc.
(, and attended ca. 400 participants. We are
expecting to strengthen the research partnership between Asian countries for the above
topic especially including your society. Off course, we will not ask you the financial
support, and your participation by name should be very helpful for this purpose.
I would highly appreciate it very much if you kindly consider this matter, and I look
forward to hearing your positive reply.

Yours sincerely,
Zhiping Li
